1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. "Similar technologies" include browser local storage, which works in a comparable way but is not sent to the server with every request. Both are regulated in Estonia by the Electronic Communications Act and the GDPR.
2. Cookies and storage we use
secondop.eu is a lightweight site and uses very few cookies. We group them as follows:
2.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
secondop_cookie_consent | Local storage (first party) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies so the banner is not shown again. | 12 months (or until cleared) |
Hosting / security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm) | HTTP cookie (hosting provider) | Bot protection and load balancing by our hosting infrastructure. | Session – 30 minutes |
2.2 Analytics (only with your consent)
We may use a privacy-friendly, cookieless or anonymised analytics tool to understand which pages are read and whether the site works well. No analytics is loaded until you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. IP addresses are anonymised and no cross-site tracking or advertising profiles are created.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_sop_a (if enabled) | HTTP cookie (first party) | Distinguishes anonymous visits for aggregated page statistics. | Up to 13 months |
2.3 Marketing cookies
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
3. Consent and your choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you choose "Necessary only" or "Accept all". Your choice is stored locally on your device. You can change or withdraw it at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the footer, which re-opens the banner, or by clearing your browser's site data.
4. Third-party resources
To display the site correctly we load fonts and icon files from content delivery networks (Google Fonts, jsDelivr). These providers may receive your IP address as a technical necessity when the file is requested, but we do not permit them to set tracking cookies via our site. The business plan PDF is served from our own domain.
5. Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and local storage through their settings. Instructions for common browsers:
6. Changes
We will update this policy if we add or remove cookies. The latest version is always available at secondop.eu/cookies.html.
